Headteacher's Welcome
A warm welcome to the Shavington Primary website. I hope from looking through the pages you will get a sense of the inclusive, friendly and happy school Shavington is.
At Shavington Primary School we aim to build an exceptional school community – unlocking potential and embracing opportunities. Our children and staff are empowered to take on the world as life long learners. This empowerment comes from the opportunities to thrive whether that be in the arts, sports or academia. Confidence is built from the early years with children introduced to the four learning muscles of resilience, relationships, resourcefulness and reflection. Adults nurture the best from each child and build strong relationships ensuring children can thrive because they feel safe and listened to.
Children have access to an ambitious curriculum that sparks curiosity and passion in the world around them, they are excited to learn. Every child has the opportunity to:
-
Play a musical instrument
-
Go on trips linked to the curriculum
-
Go on trips that build character
-
Go on a residential trip abroad
-
Take part in sports competitions
-
Attend extra-curricular clubs including those in the arts
Children learn to welcome diversity and make everyone welcome. They build strong relationships built on kindness and are given opportunities to take part in student leadership activities.
Staff are given high quality professional development that is evidence based and implemented carefully. They are encouraged to lead at every level and embrace opportunities. They feel valued and as such encourage the passion and excitement in the pupils.
Pupils are given a sense of success through the breadth of opportunities on offer but also recognise the importance of resilience and perseverance. Every pupil is given the life chances they deserve regardless of their starting points or background. Barriers to learning are minimised by passionate teachers who are equipped to strive for exceptional quality.
Parents and the community are at the heart of Shavington’s success. We aim for them to feel valued and listened to, confident that their child is getting the best education.
It is a pleasure to welcome you to our school. We look forward to working in partnership with you.
