Last week, a group of children proudly represented the school at the T1 Rugby event. This was a new format of rugby, replacing tag rugby, and the children adapted to it exceptionally well.
The organisers were highly complimentary about how quickly the children understood the rules and tactics of the game. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and understanding of play were evident throughout the event.
The rugby on display was fantastic, with both Shavington teams performing brilliantly and securing a number of impressive victories. A particular highlight was the Shavington v Shavington match, which was a closely contested and high-quality game that ended in a well-deserved draw, reflecting the skill and determination shown by both teams.
A huge thank you to our rugby-playing teacher, Mr Maloney, for coaching and preparing the children so successfully. We would also like to thank Mr Hazeldine and Mr Slaney for their support at and on the run up to the event.
Well done to all of the children involved for representing the school so positively and with such excellent sportsmanship. 🏉
