Welcome to Shavington Primary School
Welcome back to the second half of our Summer Term 2019.
We hope you managed to enjoy the half term break.
We are very excited as during this term we have renovated our new Nursery and Reception outdoor learning spaces. This is very exciting as both areas are lovely spaces which provide great opportunities for all aspects of learning in the early years. We have climbing frames and shelters and suitable surfaces for all activities. We are now busy making it exactly as we want it to maximise a range of learning opportunities for our EYFS children.
This Term continues to see our children swimming in year 3 children and top up swimming sessions for all children in years 4,5 & 6 who can't swim 25m. We have residential visits planned; including our year 6 residential to London, as well as sponsored sporting events, sports days and end of year assemblies for parents.
We will be continuing to make good use of our new two storey building. It consists of 8 new classrooms which house our KS2 classes, a huge sports hall with changing room facilities, a large cookery room as well as new spaces for before and after school club.
The school office is located within the new buidling. All visitors to school should access school using our new main entrance which is located on Main Road opposite St. Johns Church. Our old entrance located on Southbank avenue is for disabled access and deliveries only.
In addition we also have a purpose built space to run a Resource Provision for children with Special Educational Needs whose needs may not be fully met in a mainstream primary school. The Resource Provision has it's own admissions policy separate to Shavington Primary School.
Now the new buidling is open and we are making good use of the new classrooms and spaces we will be focusing on the outdoor learning spaces. We have been busy in school getting together working parties of staff and children to format a plan of action. We will be asking for your help with this as we will be planning two working weekend days in the Summer Term.
We will be in need of handy helpers and willing volunteers to dig, paint, plant and build. We will keep you informed about these projects as they develop. Everyone is welcome all members of the family, all ages!
Remember to keep informed using our communication systems. We will continue to inform parents through our weekly Friday newsletters with all the information you need for the week ahead and of course our school website calendar which has all events listed for the rest of the year, all colour coded to each class. We will also continue to use our texting service to parents as quick reminders.
Remember our virtual office section of the website also has copies of any letters that have been sent out so if you need any additional copies you can find one there.
We are a happy school where children enjoy learning and are given every opportunity to succeed. We are proud of our children and value hard work and enjoyment. We aim to create the right environment for our children to learn. Through our vibrant and creative curriculum we strive for all our children to achieve their full potential and develop the necessary skills and confidence to succeed in their lives.
We have a committed and dedicated team at Shavington Primary School who work very hard to make sure that our children achieve and succeed. We plan careful learning experiences for the children that include residential visits and exciting activities that ensure the children engage with their own learning and develop the whole child.
At the heart of our school are the relationships we strive to build and maintain with our children and their families. We aim to create positive, constructive relationships that benefit all stakeholders.
If you would like to visit our school please contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
