We are aware that many parents are working from home. This is not a compulsory activity. It is there for you to access as and when you are able to. We understand that it can be difficult to manage both working from home and managing home learning so please do not worry.
Below are a few questions which have been raised about this online learning resource.
How do I access the Power Maths online for home learning?
You should have received an email with a link to click on. Once you click on the link, you will be given the option to choose the resources for your child. You will need to click that you accept the terms and conditions. Do not worry, this is a FREE resource for you to use.
Does it have answers for the questions?
Yes. For the Summer Term Home Learning Book. When you open the E-book, you will have an option to show the contents. If you click on the contents list and scroll to the bottom, you will find the answers for the lessons in the practice book.
I want to print off the pupil practice book pages. How can I do this?
The texts are designed so that you can write on them using your computer/ iPad but this can sometimes be tricky. If you would like to print them off, you will need to do the following:
Computer - You will need to printscreen the page. You will then paste this onto a Microsoft Word document or similar and then you can print.
iPad - You will need to screen shot the page. You should then have this saved as an image and then you can print.
I don't have a printer. What should I do?
Please don't worry. Your child could always use a piece of paper, mini whiteboard or something else to write their answers down on, then you could check them.
Which books should I be following?
The books are based around the school terms. A (Autumn), B (Spring) and C (Summer).
Your child should now be on Book C however, as the schools were asked to close due to Covid-19, Power Maths has created a special Summer edition book which has been tailored around preparing your child for their next year of school. This book focuses particularly on the skills your child has already learnt in the Autumn and Spring term whilst at school, helping to solidify these skills.
I'm not a specialist in Maths. What if I teach my child wrong?
Again, please do not worry. As a school, we have provided this resource so that is there for you to access if you are able to. We appreciate that it is not always possible to balance both home learning and working from home. Do not feel under pressure to be completing this. Your child's teacher will be able to support you if you need any further assistance. The resources are there to support you. The Textbook shows you the methods and the Practice book is to develop and have a go at using these skills. There is also a helpful parent guide for you to access.
I've bought my own hard copies of the books. Do I have an answer booklet for these?
