Home Learning:

Please see the below file section for the most up to date home learning information from our school.

When possible, the 'Home Learning' section of our class page will be updated with activities for children to have a go at if they desire. It wouild be really beneficial to the children if they could continue to practice times tables and read while they are at home too.

Message for 4L from Mr Lawrie and Mrs Robinson:

We really hope you are doing well and enjoying your time with your families. Make the most of it as times like this don't happen often! We have really enjoyed speaking to you on the phone and will now be alternatin who rings you each week, so if I rang you this week, Mrs Robinson will ring you next week etc.

Please try to continue practicing your times tables and reading at ome, there are loads of other ideas you could do in a range of subjects on the 'Home Learning' section of our school website and have a go at taking pictures of your work and saving them to the school website too, we would love to see them!

Try to be resilient Rhino's too, it can be hard to know what to think with everything happening in the world at the moment but remember you have amazing families that care for you deeply, we can't wait to see you and life will return to some routine as soon as it is possibel to do so.

Take care of yourselves and your families,

Mr Lawrie and Mrs Robinson

Our topic this term is What Can You Sea

Our class mission statement for the year will be:

"To learn and help others learn to the best of our ability."

Adults that will work in our class this year:

Mr Lawrie (class teacher)

Mrs Robinson (class teaching assistant)

Miss Hulse (covers PPA on Tuesday afternoon)

Mr Slayney (teaches PE twice a week)

All of you will be given a new topic homework plan and this will be stuck into your Home School Diary. There will also be a copy attached on our Year 4 web page when the homework grid is completed. Please visit the class blog for updates to homework.

We also continue to ask you to enjoy reading regularly at home, work on your times tables and we may set additional maths tasks which can be completed through the online using 'Sumdog'. These activities will continue to be recorded in Home School Diaries. Now we are in the Summer Term, Sumdog challenges become optional and weekly times tables are sent home to learn.

In Year 4, there is a huge focus on times tables. Please can children ensure that they are learning their times tables on a regular basis. The National Curriculum states that pupils should be able to fluently recall their times tables up to 12 x 12. Here is a link which can help children recall their tables fluently and efficiently.

If you want to check your child's times tables knowledge, you can do this via the multiplication check at:

There is also a helpful parents leaflet with information about the check in the documents below.

There will also be weekly spellings given out each week on a Monday and tested the following Monday.

PE Days
This term we will  have PE with Mr Slaney from Premier Sports who will work with us on Monday morning and Tuesday afternoon. All children need red shorts, pumps and trainers (outdoors). The new coloured T-shirts (one for each of our houses) for PE can be ordered from the school's online uniform supplier. Girls will need to tie long hair back and cover any earrings. PE kits will also stay in school all term now.

Water Bottles

All children have been provided with a school water bottle. These need to be kept in school during the week and taken home to be washed on a Friday.

Outdoor shoes and coats

All children should have a pair of outdoor shoes and a coat in school for play times and lunch times.
