Hello everyone! Welcome back from the October half term. I hope you have had a fantastic break and you are ready for some super learning. To start off our year, our first topic is going to be..... The Stone Age!

Here are some of the books we will be using to support our learning this term.

Over the course of the term, we will be exploring the stone age through its 3 stages and how humans have adapted to use tools to support them in their everyday lives.
We will be doing lots of art-work, including cave paintings and creating some stone-age artefacts. We will also be going back to our hunter-gatherer roots, foraging for local fruits and vegatables which we can use to make a delicious meal. We can't wait to get this topic started!

All of you will be given a new topic homework plan and this will be stuck into your Home School Diary. There will also be a copy attached on our Year 4 web page when the homework grid is completed.

We also continue to ask you to enjoy reading regularly at home, work on your times tables and we may set additional maths tasks which can be completed through the online 'My Maths' program or using 'Sumdog'. These activities will continue to be recorded in Home School Diaries.

There will also be weekly spellings given out each week on a Monday and tested the following Monday.

PE Days
This term we will  have PE with Mr Slaney, Mr Jones and Mr Biggs from Premier Sports who will work with us on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.  All children need red shorts, pumps and trainers (outdoors). The new coloured T-shirts (one for each of our houses) for PE can be ordered from the school's online uniform supplier. Girls will need to tie long hair back and cover any earrings. PE kits will also stay in school all term now.
