Useful Information

The children have P.E lessons every Friday. The children are able to come into school in their PE kit on Friday and wear this throughout the day. Please bring jumpers and trousers for colder days.

The children have their own School water bottle which they have access to all day. Each Friday the children will bring these home for them to be rinsed although the water bottles don't like dish washers because they melt them. These water bottles must then be returned on Monday.

Your child needs to have their book bag in School everyday to ensure we can change their book regularly, send activities home to support your child's learning and communicate events and information. Children's books will be changed once a week on their reading day when they will receive two new books.

Autumn Term

We hope you have all had a great summer and are looking forward to your first day in Reception. This term our topic is going to be focusing on the 'Sea'. We will start off by planning activities based around 'Pirates'. We will be looking closely at different pirates and what is was like being a pirate. We will be going on lots of treasure hunts and learning some sea shanties. The children will then move on to look at different seas and oceans around the world looking at stories such as the Rainbow Fish and Commotion in the Ocean to support this. We have planned many interesting activities both indoors and outdoors based on this theme. To see some of these activities look at our medium term planning below. We will also be introducing the children to our woodland area this term, where we will be learning how to work as a team and how to manage our own risks to keep ourselves safe when completing various activities such as tree climbing, den building and building a camp fire.

Remember to look on Tapestry and our class blog to see some of the amazing things we are getting up to!
