Year 6 14.05.18

Date: 14th May 2018 @ 5:46pm

A busy week ahead for Year 6 but they have taken it all in their stride. They have made a great start to the week and have tackled the SAT’s head on. Bring on the rest!

We spent this afternoon revising the translation of shapes and even managed to get outside to play a quick game!

This week we have completed our end of Key Stage 2 assessments in maths (arithmetic and reasoning), reading, spelling, grammar and punctuation. I have been blown away by the sheer determination and focus of our Year 6 children this week. They have not been phased even when faced with challenges. Additionally, they have remained calm and remembered all of the things we’ve been working on. We’ve even had some children share that they thought the SAT’s were fun! The positivity towards this week has been excellent and the children have completely and utterly risen to the challenge.

A massive well done to you all for all of your hard work towards this week. You should be very proud of yourselves. I would also like to say a massive thank you to all parents and families for the continued support throughout the preparation working towards the SAT’s.

We ended the week with a treat watching The Greatest Showman with some popcorn and a cake from Mrs Nicholls. We were also able to enjoy some games outside on the field.

London Residential

We are looking forward to our trip to London next week. The coach will be leaving from the top car park at 8am.

I have spoken to the children about what they need to pack: clothes for British weather; waterproof jacket/coat; comfortable, walking shoes; sun cream and hat; backpack with a refillable water bottle & packed lunch for Wednesday; toiletries; money and a digital camera.
