YEAR 5 Week beginning 13.6.16

Date: 23rd Jun 2016 @ 9:29pm

We have had a busy first 2 weeks back. Year 5 have worked hard preparing their year 5 assembly to share with you. They had a wonderful time performing in front of you all, thank you so much for those of you that were able to attend- it was lovely to see you all.

We have also been luck enough to have a visit from a bird of prey sanctuary. The children were able to see real birds of prey and learnt all about them. We have been using this experience and the information about them to help us focus on a writing project. We have thought about how a bird of prey would perceive a WW2 scene.

In literacy we have been focusing on poetry and how it can be used to share our messages and emotions and techniques that we can use to interest the reader. We have produced some fantastic poems all about the lives of soldiers and evacuees.

In maths we have been focusing on the 4 operations and how we can use these skills to look into different investigations.
