Year 2 blog 20.1.17

Date: 20th Jan 2017 @ 7:03pm

In our maths lessons this week we have been focusing on money.  We have being adding prices together and then calculating the amount of change a customer would be given in a shop.  We have been considering all the different ways of making a set amount of money, for example 20p.  These are skills that you could practise with your children at home.

In our English lessons we have been read Aboriginal tales from the Dreamtime.  These stories explain how the world was created.  We drew story maps on Thursday and then on Friday we retold the tale of " Wombat on walkabout."

It is Australia Day on Thursday 26th January.  As Australia is part of our topic work this term, we would like to celebrate Australia Day on our classrooms.  It would be great if your child came to school in red, white and blue on Thursday, the colours of the Australian flag.
