Year 1 blog 23.4.16

Date: 23rd Apr 2016 @ 6:52pm

We have been at school for two weeks now and we have had a lot of fun learning about the music of Saint-Saens called "The Carnival of the Animals".   Camille Saint-Saens himself visited us (even though he died in 1921!).  He introduced himself to us and played us some extracts from "The Carnival of the animals".  He did look a lot like Mrs Rivers!

Then Elizabeth's Daddy came into school and he played his cello for us.  He play the swan piece from Saint-Saens' music - it was very beautiful.  We learnt about the musical terms legatto and staccato.  He let some of us have a go at playing his cello.  If you are a musician and could visit us at school and play us some music, please let one of the Year 1 teachers know.  We would love to hear you play your instrument.
