Week Beginning 23rd May 2016

Date: 26th May 2016 @ 1:41pm

In our literacy work we have been practising using inverted commas in preparation for writing our own narrative stories on Friday. We have also looked at constructed a variety of amazing sentences making sure they include a subject, verb, noun, adverbs and adjectives to make them more interesting for the reader.

In Maths this week we have revisited the multiplication formal written method to multiply 2-, 3- and 4-digit numbers by a single digit. We have then moved onto solving problems using both mental and written methods to help us to figure out the answers. We must remember to check our answers using the inverse operation!!

In RE we have completed our names in calligraphy writing and decorated it.

We have been practising jumping with hurdles in PE this week and Mr Bentham asked us to create our own game in small groups.

We have completed the first of our Science topics this week - Electricity. We have made our own types of switches using cardboard, split pins, paper clips and bull dog clips. We then put these into a working electrical circuit to test if they worked and timed how long it took to disconnect the electron flow.
