Week beginning 18/4/16
Date: 21st Apr 2016 @ 4:33pm
We have had the most amazing two weeks back in school! Our new topic is exciting and we have been thinking all bout dens. We have researched them on the iPads and we have even had a go at building a life-sized one, to fit in 14 children!
We also really enjoyed our swimming this week and the children did lots of different tasks in the water. They behaved beautifully and were a real credit to all the staff that attended.
Fantastic Mr Fox is going down a storm and the children are really excited by the book and some of the ‘funny’ language that Roald Dahl uses. We have come up with some of our own parallel stories about the farmers and what they get up to in between each chapter.
In maths we have been problem solving this week and trying to build up our times tables knowledge ready to go into our maths sessions next week. If you would like to see how we teach multiplication (of two and three digit numbers by a single digit number) in year three, then please look at the school calculation policy on this website.
In PE the children have been looking at passing and receiving. They have been recognising key features in agility, such as balance, power and changing direction.
