Week beginning 16.01.17

Date: 7th Feb 2017 @ 10:18am

In year 3 this week we have been continuing with our Greek myth 'Perseus and the monstrous Medusa', focusing on setting descriptions. We have been learning about how language can affect the mood of a piece of writing and listened to music that creates a specific mood.

In maths we have been revising what we know about time and reading analogue clocks in 5 minute intervals e.g. 10 past 2,  25 to 4). We have also looked at matching digital and analogue times by playing lots of games.

In our afternoon sessions, we have created a timeline of Ancient Greece, with a focus on key dates and revising what happens to dates when they are BC. We have become fitness analysts in Science and started to look at the difference between 'diet ' and 'nutrition'. We organised a selection of animals into a Venn diagram based on whether they were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores. We also continued our work on Europe and labelled countries on a map as well as identifying the bodies of water that surround Europe.
