Week beginning 13.11.2017

Date: 26th Nov 2017 @ 11:24am

This week in year 5, we have been describing our favourite meal. We have been using our knowledge of similes, metaphors and personification to really bring our writing to life. We all got very hungry when we were writing about our favourite food!
In maths, we have been learning how to read tables including timetables. We realised that we all need to keep practising our 24hr clock knowledge in order to read a train timetable. We have now moved on to multiplication and division. Towards the end of this week, we have been focusing on multiples and factors.
In science, we have been finishing our 'materials' topic and we really enjoyed looking at irreversible and reversible changes. We all took part in an experiment to create Carbon Dioxide by mixing bicarbonate of soda and vinegar.
As it has been Friendship week, we have been talking about how we are all different but all equal. We understand what the word equality means and we know that treating everyone the same isn't the same as treating everyone equally.
Well done to everyone who took part in 'Spotacular' for Children in Need.  It is heart warming to see how much effort is put into helping those that aren't as fortunate as ourselves. Thanks for everyone's support.
Have a lovely weekend and see you on Monday.
