Shape Of You

Keep in tune with the lyrical genius that is Ed Sheeran, we have been looking at shapes this week. We dived right in looking at 4 main 2D shapes: squares, rectangles, triangles and circles, concentrating on the characteristics of each on and understanding why each shape falls into each category. Our class are the A team having also became very confident in using the word vertex and vertices to talk about corners, edges instead of sides, faces (to create an easier link for 3D shapes) and even parallel when distinguishing between a square and a rectangle. This might be me just thinking out loud, but I am very impressed, but what do I know?

The perfect way to learn about shapes was to look for them and then create them ourselves. It was exciting stuff and the children loved it, I just had to take a photograph! Well a few, but I just had to sing their praises
