First week back from the Christmas break
Date: 13th Jan 2019 @ 8:51pm
It’s been lovely to see everyone’s faces again and find out what they get up to over the Christmas holidays. We have come back feeling refreshed and we have tackled lots of problems this week with a, “I can do this” attitude.
In maths, we have been learning how to divide and multiply a number by 10 and 100, and recognise when we can use our knowledge of commutative law to solve bigger problems. We began by using concrete objects which we can physically move to understand how the place value of a number changes when it is multiplied or divided. Then, when we felt more confident, we moved onto the written method.
Next week, we will be looking at consolidating our times table knowledge and making links between the fact families.
