Chester zoo and seeing things grow

Date: 11th May 2019 @ 10:13pm

We are all really enjoying learning about our new topics this term. In science we are looking at parts of plants and how they grow. We have even planted some of our own seeds in class and some of them are really starting to get tall now.  We have also been working on nature poems in English.

In topic we are learning all about Chester zoo and George Mottershead and how he founded the zoo with his parents, his wife and his young family. We have had a great time looking at shadow drawings–let’s hope we get some more nice weather so we can continue our learning outside! We have also been learning how to display information in a time line, and how we can use our knowledge of numbers to understand what events come first. In addition, we have been applying our knowledge of safe searching on the internet, using Kiddle- a child safe search engine, and have used this to find out about or favourite animals.  We have used these findings to help us build enclosures for animals using Lego.
