Aboriginal Art

Date: 2nd Feb 2018 @ 8:33am

This week during our topic lessons we have been focusing on 'Aboriginal Art'. We have been learning all about the colours, patterns and symbols that aboriginal people use in their art work. The children have been fascinated by the way aborignal art is made. We decided to do some of our own aboriginal art. First we picked an animal that had been in our 'Australian traditional tales' book and then we coloured it in, using aboriginal techinques and symbols. The next day we then used cotton buds and very thin paintbrushes to paint our designs onto black card. The children had lots of fun and the art work is absolutely amazing!! We've already had lots of members of staff comment on how fantastic it looks!
